Presenting the latest addition to my Maps of London series—my most intricate and detailed piece yet. This map delves into one of my favourite areas of London, the Barbican, capturing over 2,000 years of history in a single composition.

From the ancient Roman fort and medieval city walls to the Tudor-era street patterns and the striking Brutalist architecture of the Barbican Estate, this map seamlessly blends multiple eras of London’s rich past. The Barbican itself, once devastated by the Blitz during World War II, was transformed into one of the most ambitious post-war redevelopment projects in Europe. Designed in the 1950s and completed in the 1980s, the estate is now an iconic example of Brutalist design and home to the world-renowned Barbican Centre, a hub for arts, music, and theatre.

Every corner of this map has been meticulously illustrated to reflect the area’s evolving landscape, making it a unique tribute to London’s fascinating history.
