The Cathedrals of St Paul – 2025
The newest addition to my Parte of London map series. This is the 14th map I have created since beginning the series in 2020.
This map focuses on London’s most iconic landmark, St Paul’s Cathedral. I show the present-day cathedral, designed by Sir Christopher Wren and completed in 1710, standing within the ruins of the medieval Cathedral destroyed in the Great Fire of 1666.
Surrounding the cathedral are the tightly packed lanes of old London, with hidden and lost steeples peeking out from the rooftops. Throughout the map you’ll find over 1,000 years of London’s lost and forgotten history, from old city gates, prisons, and monuments to medieval Queens.
This map was created over a seven-month period, with an abundance of research and walking going into the process.
This is a map I have wanted to create for a number of years now, and it has been a joy to bring to life. I hope you get as lost within it as I have over these last few months!
