This artwork, a combination of traditional and digital drawing, portrays the Lloyd’s of London Building gleaming under a smoky, grey sky. In contrast to its usual place, dwarfed by London’s towering skyscrapers, the Lloyd’s building here dominates the skyline, rising above the crooked, dilapidated medieval lanes and alleys. The scene is viewed through a stone archway, perhaps the remnants of a long-lost church or the former headquarters of a Livery company. Beyond the ancient arch, a hauntingly still canal, overgrown with algae and lily pads, completes the eerie yet captivating atmosphere.
