Original hand-drawn sketch showing the Chapel of St Thomas that once stood on the medieval London Bridge. Built in the early 13th century and dedicated to St Thomas Becket, the chapel served as a place of worship for pilgrims and travelers crossing the bridge. Remarkably constructed above one of the central arches, it was both a spiritual sanctuary and an architectural marvel of its time. The chapel was eventually deconsecrated and demolished in 1832 during the redevelopment of the bridge.
The drawing was made using pigment ink on beautiful 320gsm handmade paper, giving it a rich texture and lasting quality.
The paper size is roughly 20cm x 20cm.
