The Restoration of the Elizabeth Tower
High quality Giclée print
Printed onto 310gsm Hahnemühle German Etching paper
This piece (completed in January 2022) shows the restoration of the world famous Elizabeth Tower, famously known around the world as ‘Big Ben’. Between 2017 and 2022 the clock face was hidden behind scaffolding, as the tower was restored to its former glory. During the 1930’s the tower’s original paint scheme was painted over with black paint, in an effort to hide the damage cased by pollution. The original colour scheme was long forgotten, until restorers peeling back the layers of black paint came across a layer of Prussian Blue, which was the towers original colour.
