White Tower, Tower of London
This drawing shows the White Tower, the powerful Norman keep at the heart of the Tower of London. Built for William the Conqueror in the 1070s, it has stood as a symbol of royal authority for nearly a thousand years.
The distinctive domes atop the turrets were added during the Tudor period, in honour of Anne Boleyn’s coronation in 1533.
